A) New skin - the interface looks a bit like Internet Explorer in Windows Vista with a much denser range of quick access icons at the top of the screen.
B) There are a number of useful features that can be operated with ease and efficiency which allows the user to complete the relevant tasks that set upon the user as a Football Manager.
i) Match flow - The introduction of the 2D match engine. Match flow brings more atmospheres to match days with match previews, team talks, opposition player instructions, the match itself, half time and post match now seamlessly following on from one another. There's no more pausing to make tactical changes and you'll find a mini-radar pitch whilst making those tactical changes to keep you in touch with what's going on in the match.
ii) Easier to use and learn - A much cleaner skin, a brand new advisor system to help you through various areas of the game, a new notes and notebook system, better button positioning for simpler navigation and an updated tutorial and manual. Also, coach reports to make taking over a new team easier and a new calendar system - which lists all important dates throughout the season.
iii) Transfer centre - A new way of managing all current transfer and loan bids for your club, both incoming and outgoing, making it easier to compare bids and reject or accept them. Also, whenever other rival teams make a significant signing, you are treated to a mini news feed that shows you all of the recent acquisitions made by your adversaries.
iv) Confidence tab - You can now easily know what your board and supporters think about your performance in the game through the new confidence section. This gives you feedback not just on your current progress in competitions, but also your financial management and signings.
v) A revamped finance system -Corporate match day income, season ticket news, investment funds, improved sponsorships, collective win bonuses and the ability to move around funds from the wage budget and transfer budget (and vice versa) at any point to help you in your quest for the ideal squad.
vi) Improved International management - Media improvements, international retirements, player interaction, international scouting, improved national pool selection, captain selection and a separation of international and club morale for players.
vii) Awards Overhaul - A full overhaul of the awards system inside the game, which is not only more accurate but also includes new awards, such as the European golden boot and a 'best eleven'.
viii) Expanded Media - More media and feedback than ever before, plus more detail in existing media, and a new competition news section to find out what major things are going on in all league competitions.
ix) Fan Days - The board can now arrange fan days to boost ailing attendances, or for matches that are likely to attract a low crowd, with a long-term affect to attendances if all goes well.
x) FaceGen system for computer generated players - In other words, if the game creates a player to fill the huge FM player pool and account for real player retirements (as it always has done), then that pubescent player will be given a computer generated mug-shot that ages as the player progresses through their career.
xi) Regenerated Player Photos - All in-game regenerated players now have pictures using FaceGen technology to give each player more personality. This gives the ability for players to be seen to mature and grow-up looks-wise in front of your eyes as the game is going on.
xii) Shortcut key – For example, you can press space bar key to continue the game rather than click the continue button on the interface screen.
C) Menus and selection objects – Almost all metaphors representation have textual descriptions when you move the cursor at it. Consistency of terminology also applies to all options throughout the system. Similar items are grouped in a menu map and attributes of player can be sorted in alphabetic order.
D) The use of metaphor in the interface design – For example, a ‘home’ for overview and ‘lens’ for search which are familiar to most users.
E) Emotional response - The game resonate with the player in a way that causes an emotional reaction. For example, if you win a tournament then you will get a lot of praise from your board, supporter, and other managers.
F) Contemplative response - This game cause us to think or reflect upon consequences. For example, you should the player morale will be low if you criticized his performance harshly.
G) Replayable – You can save the broadcast of your match for your own match’s moments collection.
H) Discovery - You can discover the player’s potential around the world, new strategies, new way to do the same old thing, or maybe new achievements.
I) Continue Button - To continue the game. Located at two corners of the screen.
